I first fell in love with newborn baby photography when I had my daughter over ten years ago.  Back then it was not nearly as popular as it is now.  These days, booking your newborn baby photographer has become an important task in the overwhelming list of “to-do’s” as new parents prepare the arrival on an added family member.  And there are so many options out there with varying styles and costs.  So how do you choose the photographer who is right for you?  Here are a few tips to help you search more efficiently.

Find the Style that Speaks to You

Are you drawn to the “light and airy” look, the natural posing or the overly posed baby portraits?  My style is more organic and natural with a focus on family centered posing.  I think it’s just as important to capture the love a family has for their new baby as it is to capture baby solo.  I do also offer the overly posed baby portraits, but the most popular packages are the ones with my lifestyle posing.

What is their Experience Level?

After you’ve narrowed down your options, take a look at the photographer’s experience level.  A seasoned photographer who has been photographing for many years is going to likely have a more efficient workflow and be able to handle babies easier than one newer to the profession.  I have been photographing babies for over a decade and have worked with all types of temperaments and a wide variety of special needs requiring delicate posing.  Your baby is your of utmost value and you’ll obviously want baby to be in the best care, worry-free.

What is Included in the Pricing?

Pricing varies widely based on the photographer’s experience and what is included in the portrait session.  Some packages will offer print products while others offer digitals.  In addition to your portraits, my sessions include a client wardrobe for babies, children and mother’s.  I have an extensive variety of dress options in all sizes and styles that photograph beautiful available to my clients at no additional charge!
