Portraits belong on the walls or displayed in albums. They are part of your life story that serve as a gentle reminder of the life you have lived. A reminder of those cherished moments that have passed.
Your portraits deserve to be printed on the highest quality paper, using archival pigments that will not fade over time.
Print quality varies widely. The quality of prints from a professional lab do not compare to the quality of photo labs available to the public. Since I get a lot of questions regarding the differences, I decided to share different samples with you.
Below are two sets of images that include a professional print and prints from various public photo labs. While the colors in the CVS & Walgreens prints are oversaturated (making the beautiful baby look very jaundice), the colors of the shutterfly print are desaturated, resulting in a very dull print.
The majority of my portraits are printed on beautiful deep matte photo paper that has no sheen. This paper adds a softness to the image that you don’t get from “glossy” photo paper. Although I ordered “matte” from the public labs, none of them had the non-reflective surface that a true matte print should have.
